TR and Beth Ross

How did you meet?

I don’t know if this qualifies but I was in high school and went to a football game with Regina Bailey. Regina’s older sister Connie was a cheerleader so we were always following her around! In walked Mike Long, Roger Smith, and TR Ross, juniors at Stephens High. They sat in front of us at the game and the rest is history. It was love at first sight for both of us and we’ve been together since! We both attended SSC after that and married right after TR finished his degree.

What activities did the campus offer couples

What did the two of you do for fun/dates?

We always enjoyed the dances at the student union, especially when the Uniques played! And it was always a party when Bo Ray was on the dance floor too! Great memories!!!

How many years have you been together?

Together 46 years, married for 40 years.

Are there any special memories of you two on campus?

TR was in the Tauren Society, SAU’s first social fraternity, and we both enjoyed that. Always lots of fun and fundraising going on.
TR was also in Phi Beta Lamda and recently we visited northern Arkansas and suddenly remembered a trip we made to Harrison for a state competition. We rode in a car and even Dr. Rankin, the sponsor, rode along with us. Alan Duncan won in Accounting and TR won in Economics! Some fun times with Dr. Rankin, Dr. White, Dr. Steckler, Dr. Boaz, Dr. Trexler, Mr. Samuels, and Mr. Blanchard.
