SAU Alumni and SAU Career Services are proud to re-introduce Career AIM: Alumni Inspiring Muleriders. This mentor program will allow our alumni to connect individually with current Muleriders and new graduates to share valuable lessons and skills they have learned after their time at SAU. Mentees will benefit significantly from the experience, gaining knowledge not taught in the classroom and experience in networking and relationship building. We encourage alumni, faculty, and staff of numerous backgrounds to serve as mentors in this program. Your involvement in Career AIM will count towards your volunteer service within our membership model.

Program Commitment Length

Applicants can choose to participate in the program for one semester (fall or spring) or the full academic year. We understand that everyone has other important commitments, so please use discretion and honesty when determining the amount of time you can commit to Career AIM. We want to make sure mentees and mentors get the most out of this program according to their circumstances!

How It Works

1. Student mentees submit applications to the Career Services office by September 2. Alumni mentees and mentors submit applications to the SAU Alumni Association by September 2.

2. We will then apply a compatibility matrix to applicants to pair mentors with mentees for the best possible match. We’ll do our best to match mentors and mentees one-on-one based on college, major, career interest, program commitment length, and potential post-graduation location.

3. Once we have matched mentors with mentees, all individuals are required to attend a launch event on Monday, September 15, 2025 on Zoom.

4. Each mentorship pair is required to have a minimum of one meaningful meeting each month. We encourage pairs to meet in person (in a public setting) or virtually via Zoom, phone call, text, or email. Each pair will set goals that will guide each meeting.
